Stuntman and Freestyle Motocross icon Robbie Maddison was last week out at Farm Cove, to promote the upcoming Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney, at Qudos Bank Arena on November 11 and 12.

Against the backdrop of the Sydney Harbour, Maddison had planned to perform his latest stunts, however during training compressed his back, rearing him too sore to perform on the day.

“I was so excited to come out and jump ahead of this year’s Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney, but after over-rotating during a backflip while training, I just think It was best I sat out, so I’m right to compete at the event,” Maddison said.

Maddison brought in his replacement, his seven year old son Kruz, who showed off his skills, announcing he’ll make his Supercross racing debut at this year’s KTM Junior Supercross Challenge (KJCS).

“I can’t wait to compete at the KTM Junior Supercross Challenge, it will be my first time racing so I’m pumped! Kruz said.

The KJSC gives 20 lucky aspiring riders, aged between seven and eight years old, the chance to compete for the first time in the event’s history.

Multiple X-Games Gold Medalist Jackson Strong and international champion rider Pat Bowden took to the sky, performing a series of epic Freestyle Motocross stunts, giving onlookers a taste of what’s in store for this year’s ‘Best Trick’ contest at AUS-X.

Monster Energy athlete Strong said he’s pumped to be apart of this year’s event, and says he can’t wait to bust out some epic moves for event attendees.

“I’m amped to be coming to the Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney for the third year in a row, and I can’t wait to lay down some new stuff for the fans,” Strong said.

This year’s event will also feature Supercross World Champions Chad Reed, Jason Anderson, and Ricky Carmichael, as well as live music, stunning pyrotechnics, giveaways, and is an entertainment extravaganza for all ages.

This year one million dollars is up for grabs to any fan who purchases tickets to both days of the event. Attendees can win $1,000,000 ($500k per night) if they can pick the top 12 riders in the correct order in the main race, the SX1 final. This is free to enter, just with a ticket to the event. For further details head to
