MONSTER ENERGY ATHLETES SEND IT A X GAMES

Australian Monster Energy athletes have torn through X Games in Austin this past weekend, with phenomenal performances at the illustrious action sports event.

Vince Byron was the first to draw blood, earning a stellar gold medal in BMX Vert on Friday. Byron would edge out X Games royalty and fellow Monster Energy athlete – Jamie Bestwick; denying Bestwick his tenth consecutive gold medal in the competition. Byron ended Bestwicks unbelievable reign with an unreal new-to-X Games trick; a 540 flair. Combining that with his smooth-as-silk run, Byron was crowned with gold.

Next up would be Kyle Baldock, claiming a thrilling gold medal in BMX Dirt on Saturday. Coming into his third and final run, Baldock needed a killer run to be able to clinch his third consecutive gold medal, and he did just that. Performing some of the most technical tricks over the huge dirt hits, which included a tuck no hander front flip, Baldock scored a 90.00 to claim three-peat gold’s in X Games competition.

The highly touted Speed and Style event provided another Monster Energy Aussie with an X Games medal, as Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams claimed a well-fought silver medal. The final saw Williams face off against fellow Monster Energy athlete Nate Adams, which proved to be a tenacious matchup. The duo went back and fourth numerous times whilst performing some of Freestyle Motocross’ most difficult tricks. Adams would walk away with gold.

Josh Sheehan would conclude the medal count for the Aussies on Sunday, as an indian air flair would propel ‘Sheeny’ to a bronze medal in the inaugural FMX Quarter pipe division.

Monster Energy athletes dominated the X Games, as numerous international stars unleashed on the competition, racking up a total of six gold medals.

The gold medalists consisted of:

Nyjah Huston – Skateboard street gold.

Vince Byron (AUS) – BMX Vert gold

Curren Caples – Skateboard park gold.

Kyle Baldock (AUS) – BMX Dirt gold.
