Walkinshaw Racing get more with Boost Mobile partnership

Boost Mobile, Australia’s favourite prepaid provider, has today announced a deal with Walkinshaw Racing for the Clipsal 500 along with a 12-month ambassadorship signing of star driver James Courtney.

The added boost is exactly what the reigning Clipsal 500 champion is looking for as he attempts to go back-to-back this weekend and take the #22 Mobil 1 HSV Commodore to another win here in Adelaide.

“The goal this weekend definitely is to win; the last three years I have won here so, that’s once again what we’ll be going after,” Courtney commented.

“It’s a little different format-wise this year, with 250km’s both days, so I’m looking forward to that as our team normally operate better on the longer races when strategic calls come into play.

“The Clipsal circuit really clicks with me – it’s very unforgiving which makes it dangerous and exciting, and generally rewards the brave, plus the atmosphere throughout the weekend is incredible.”

“I’m excited to welcome Boost Mobile to the fold, and together we’ll be going after the championship in 2017,” Courtney finished.

The deal will see Courtney run full Boost Mobile branding incorporated into yet another striking new helmet design for the #22 driver.

The Boost Mobile partnership further strengthens the Walkinshaw Racing campaign with Managing Director Adrian Burgess excited for a strong year ahead.

“Our preparation for this season has been great, no turnover of staff so some fantastic continuity there and the test day went well so we’re looking forward to going racing,” Burgess commented.

“Boost Mobile has come on board, it’s a great company with 4G on the Telstra network so they’ve got great coverage and a strong history in adrenalin sports so we’re really looking forward to working with them at the Clipsal 500.”

For the event this weekend Boost Mobile will feature heavily across both Walkinshaw Racing cars, the team garage and on both driver’s race suits.

Adding further strength to the team in 2017 is the inclusion of young speedster – Scott Pye, who will pilot the #2 Mobil 1 HSV Commodore this season.

“Clipsal is my favourite event; I believe on the calendar there is nothing else like it. And to be debuting here under the Mobil 1 HSV Racing Team banner is an amazing feeling and I can’t wait to get underway.”
