World Champion Tyler Wright aims to clean sweep Bells Beach

Defending World Surf League (WSL) Women’s Champion – Tyler Wright, is prepared to take on the waves at the iconic Bells Beach event this week, as the 2017 tour reaches round three.

Currently sitting third in the standings for season 2017, Wright is confident in the position that she is in, and is well within striking distance of the coveted yellow leader’s jersey.

“I’m really happy with the position that I’m in (currently); I think it’s a good place to be this early in the season, and I will just continue to build from the foundation that we’ve laid,” commented Wright.

Wright also is thrilled to have her older brother, Owen, back on the World Surf League tour following the current world number two’s serious head injury sustained at the conclusion of 2015.

“Having O (Owen Wright) back on tour is awesome, it had actually been seven years of him being there with me, so it certainly was a little strange last year. I’m really happy he is back though, and killing it.”

“The goal for Bells and beyond in 2017 is simple; win every heat and every final!” laughed Wright.

The event window opens on the 12th of April, spanning 13 days, and concluding on the 24th of April.
